UP Government Launches Wheat Procurement for Rabi Season 2025-26 Starting March 17!

The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up for the wheat procurement season for Rabi 2025-26, starting on March 17 and extending through June 15. With an extensive network of 6,500 procurement centers, the initiative aims to streamline the process for local farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated that payments be processed within 48 hours, ensuring that farmers receive their dues promptly.

Hassle-Free Procurement Process

To enhance the farming experience, the government is committed to facilitating smooth operations at procurement centers. Officials will implement various measures to make the process as seamless as possible.

  • Mobile Centers: The government will deploy mobile units to reach farmers directly in their villages, making it easier for them to sell their produce.
  • Minimum Support Price (MSP): The central government has set the MSP for wheat at ₹2,425 per quintal, reflecting a ₹150 increase from last year’s price of ₹2,275.

Registration and Guidelines

Farmers wishing to sell their wheat must register or renew their registrations via the Department of Food and Civil Supplies portal at fcs.up.gov.in or using the UP Kisan Mitra mobile app. As of now, over 2.65 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh have already completed their registration.

Before heading to the procurement centers, farmers are encouraged to ensure their wheat is clean and dry. They should remove any moisture, soil, stones, or dust to meet the quality standards.

Support for Tenant Farmers

In a significant move, tenant farmers are also eligible to register and sell their wheat this year. The procurement will occur daily from 8 am to 8 pm, except on Sundays and public holidays, ensuring ample opportunity for all farmers.

Dedicated Assistance for Farmers

The government has set up a toll-free helpline at 18001800150 to assist farmers with any inquiries. Farmers can also reach out to local officials, including the District Food Marketing Officer and Block Marketing Officer, for additional support.

With all necessary preparations in place, the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient procurement season. Payments will be credited directly to farmers’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within the stipulated 48-hour timeframe through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

This initiative not only highlights the government’s focus on supporting local farmers but also aims to boost the agricultural economy in the region.
