Suzlon Energy Ltd has taken a significant step forward by solidifying its partnership with NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), now totaling an impressive 1,544 MW. This milestone comes after Suzlon secured a 378 MW wind energy project, further cementing its status as a leader in the renewable energy sector. The move is a testament to Suzlon’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and enhancing its market position.
Major Project Details
Under this latest agreement, Suzlon will provide 120 S144 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), each boasting a capacity of 3.15 MW, alongside Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). The company will also manage the foundation, erection, and commissioning of the project, in addition to offering ongoing maintenance and service support.
Strategic Partnership for Renewable Growth
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “As NGEL targets a renewable energy capacity of 60 GW by 2032, our partnership is essential in demonstrating the vital role wind energy plays in supporting India’s largest PSU’s sustainable journey. Together, we are committed to enhancing India’s position in the global clean energy landscape, from our inaugural project in Gujarat to our expansions in Karnataka.”
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, highlighted the strategic significance of this partnership, noting, “Landing substantial, high-quality projects within the PSU sector is a cornerstone of our growth strategy. Our agreement with NGEL not only underscores our successful approach but also reaffirms our capability to provide reliable energy solutions that align with India’s clean energy objectives.”
