Stock Market Holiday Alert: NSE and BSE Closed for 2 Days This Week – Essential Information You Need!

As the Indian stock market gears up for a week of abbreviated trading sessions, traders and investors should prepare for some significant shifts in their schedules. With two holidays on the horizon, the market will be accessible for only three days. Understanding the implications of this limited trading time can help investors strategize effectively.

Trading Days and Market Closures

Next week, both the NSE (National Stock Exchange) and BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) will observe closures on Monday, April 14, in honor of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and again on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday. This means that investors will have just three active trading days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Impact on Various Market Segments

Equity and Currency Markets:

Both the stock exchanges will not operate on April 14 and April 18. Consequently, trading in the currency derivatives segment will also be inactive during these days.

Commodity Markets (MCX):

  • On April 14 (Monday), morning trading will be paused, but evening trading will pick up again at 5 PM.
  • In contrast, on April 18 (Friday), the commodity markets will be completely closed for both morning and evening sessions.
