Q4 Earnings Spotlight: Ireda and ICICI Prudential Thrive as ICICI Lombard Drops 4%

On Wednesday, the stock market was abuzz with activity surrounding Ireda, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. These companies captured investor attention following their recent fourth-quarter earnings announcements. While Ireda experienced a notable surge in its share price, ICICI Lombard saw a decline, reflecting the varied financial performances across these firms for the quarter ending in March.

Ireda’s Impressive Growth

Ireda showcased a remarkable performance, with its share price jumping by 7.50%, reaching ₹179.50. This robust growth was fueled by:

  • Total income soaring by 37.7%, amounting to ₹1,916 crore, compared to ₹1,392 crore last year.
  • Net profit climbing 48.7%, totaling ₹502 crore, up from ₹337 crore in the previous year.

ICICI Prudential’s Solid Results

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance also delivered impressive figures, with its share price increasing by 5.79% to reach ₹600. Key highlights include:

  • Net premium income rising 10.7% to ₹16,369 crore, compared to ₹14,788 crore last year.
  • Net profit surged to ₹385 crore, a significant jump from ₹174 crore.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM) grew by 5.2%, now standing at ₹3.09 lakh crore.
  • The solvency ratio improved slightly to 212.2%, up from 211.8%.

The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹0.85 per share, indicating a strong commitment to shareholder returns.

ICICI Lombard’s Mixed Performance

In contrast, ICICI Lombard General Insurance faced a challenging quarter, with its share price decreasing by 4.22% to ₹1,745.60. Despite an increase in net premium earned by 19.6% to ₹5,226 crore, the company reported a slight decline in net profit, which fell by 1.9% to ₹510 crore from ₹520 crore last year. The board has proposed a final dividend of ₹7.00 per share.
