Markets Today is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. K S Sampath Kumar as the Editor-in-Chief of the News Bureau, effective April 1, 2025. In a welcoming ceremony, Dr. Yatindra, the Chairman and Managing Director, along with Dr. Abhinandan, the Chief Editor, greeted Mr. Kumar with a bouquet, expressing their anticipation for his contributions toward elevating Markets Today to new heights.
Mr. Kumar brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a distinguished career spanning several decades in journalism, public relations, marketing, and management. His journey began as a Marketing and Management Trainee at ELAC Water Heaters, KN Industries, Chennai, in 1978. He then served as Chief Reporter and News Editor at Speciality Publications from 1979 to 1984, overseeing publications such as Mangayar Malar and South Madras News.
His career further includes roles as Feature Columnist at Eastern Media Limited, Chennai Correspondent for Eastern Media Limited, and Chief Public Relations and Marketing Officer at Indian Express, where he managed public relations, marketing, and circulation for various publications. As an entrepreneur, he founded and managed multiple ventures, including TANGlish and Blaze Printers, handling clients like Indian Overseas Bank.
Mr. Kumar also held positions as Editor and CEO at various organizations, producing a TV serial and launching weekly publications such as Elliots Echo. He served as Claims Processing Lead and HR Events Head at Starmark Services Pvt. Ltd., Vice President and Managing Editor at SOWAAT.com, and Editor and CEO at JSPL, JITSPL, and PSPL. Most recently, he was the Education Coordinator at Bajrangi Academy, Bangalore, and Vice President at MS Transstellar Journal Publications Research Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., assisting over 2000 scholars with research writing and publishing.
Dr. Yatindra expressed confidence that Mr. Kumar’s extensive experience and visionary leadership will be instrumental in steering Markets Today toward greater journalistic excellence and innovation.
