LT Share Price Soars Following Strategic Fundraise—Are You Investing?

On Friday morning, shares of Larsen and Toubro (LT) saw a positive shift as anticipation builds for a crucial board meeting aimed at discussing a new fundraising initiative. Trading began on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) with LT shares priced at ₹3,357, quickly surging to an intraday high of ₹3,376.30, reflecting an early gain of approximately 1%.

Fundraising Meeting Sparks Investor Interest

In a recent announcement, Larsen and Toubro informed investors about an upcoming board meeting set for March 21, 2025. The primary agenda will be to seek approval for a debt issue intended to bolster the company’s financial resources. The formal communication was shared through an exchange filing, emphasizing LT’s commitment to keeping the stock market informed about significant corporate developments.

Stock Performance Overview

After a slight dip earlier in the week, LT’s stock has exhibited impressive growth over the last four trading sessions. The share price has climbed from ₹3,175.55 to ₹3,378, marking an increase of around 6.5%. Despite facing challenges earlier this year, including an 8% decline due to a market downturn in February, LT’s stock remains in a phase of consolidation. Over the past year, it has experienced a 5% decrease but has delivered an astonishing 300% increase over the past five years, making it one of the standout performers in the Indian stock market.

Strong Financial Results

In its Q3FY25 report, LT revealed a 14% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit, totaling ₹3,358.84 crore for the fiscal third quarter ending December. This compares favorably to the ₹2,947.36 crore reported during the same period last year, although there was a slight sequential decline of 1.07%.

  • Consolidated Revenue: LT’s revenue from operations reached ₹64,667.78 crore, up 17.3% from ₹55,127.82 crore in Q3FY24, with a 5.1% increase compared to the previous quarter. This growth was propelled by a robust order book and heightened activity within its Projects & Manufacturing (P&M) segments.
