IAMAI Unveils New Governing Council and Office Bearers for 2025-2027: Key Leadership Changes Ahead!

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has unveiled its newly elected Governing Council for the term spanning 2025-2027. This pivotal council, which serves as the association’s highest elected body, operates under a “one member, one vote” system and comprises 24 members who are elected every two years. This recent election marks a significant moment for the association as it aims to steer the future of India’s digital landscape.

New Leadership Team for IAMAI

In a notable leadership move, MN Srinivasu, the co-founder and Director of Bill Desk, has taken the helm as the Chairman of the Governing Council. He will be joined by Harshil Mathur, the CEO of Razorpay, who steps in as Vice Chairman, and Sameer Nigam, the Founder and CEO of PhonePe, appointed as Treasurer.

This newly formed council features a diverse group of influential figures from various sectors including:

  • Anant Goenka (Indian Express)
  • Abhay Sharma (Paytm)
  • Alok Mittal (Indifi)
  • Aloke Bajpai (Ixigo)
  • Anirban Mukherjee (PayU)

Prominent Industry Voices

The council’s lineup also includes notable industry leaders such as:

  • Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com)
  • Dinesh Agarwal (IndiaMART)
  • Gautam Aggarwal (Mastercard)
  • Harsh Jain (Dream Sports)
  • Kiran Mani (Jio Hotstar)
  • Mahendra Nerurkar (Amazon Pay)

Additionally, there are key representatives like Miten Sampat (CRED), Paroma Chatterjee (Revolut), Rajesh Magow (MakeMyTrip), and Rishi Chhabra (Visa), all contributing to the council’s robust framework.

Dr. Subho Ray, currently serving as the President of IAMAI, will continue as an ex-officio member of the council. The official date for the IAMAI Annual General Meeting, where the new leadership will formally take charge, will be announced soon.

Launch of BCFI: A Significant Initiative

In a separate yet equally important development, IAMAI recently introduced the Business Correspondent Forum of India (BCFI). This forum aims to advocate for and empower Business Correspondents (BCs) and Customer Service Points (CSPs) across the nation.

Mahesh Jain, co-founder and chairman of Integra Micro Systems, will lead the forum as its Chair, with Anand Kumar Bajaj, Founder and CEO of PayNearby Technologies, serving as Co-chair.

The BCFI is designed to provide structured representation for the BC ecosystem, emphasizing:

  • Policy advocacy
  • Technological advancements
  • Digital infrastructure improvements

This initiative seeks to enhance the delivery of financial services throughout India, particularly targeting remote and underserved areas by promoting secure and scalable solutions.

As IAMAI continues to evolve, it remains at the forefront of shaping India’s digital economy, fostering innovation, and driving progress.
