JM Financial has made headlines with its recent board recommendation for a dividend payout of 270%, equating to Rs 2.70 per equity share for the fiscal year 2024-25. This generous dividend, however, hinges on the approval of shareholders during the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

In a lively trading session, shares of JM Financial Services surged by 10%, reaching an intra-day peak of Rs 116.43 on the National Stock Exchange. Although the stock later settled at Rs 110.41, it still marked a notable increase of 4.36%.

Q4 Financial Highlights

The investment banking giant reported impressive Q4 earnings, showcasing a dramatic increase in profit after tax (PAT). The company’s standalone PAT soared fivefold year-on-year, hitting Rs 134.55 crore in the fourth quarter, up from Rs 27.47 crore in the same quarter last year. The revenue from operations also reflected positive growth, totaling Rs 251.89 crore for Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 191.01 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Vishal Kampani, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JM Financial, expressed optimism about the company’s future. “The pipeline for capital market and M&A transactions remains robust. We are actively expanding our wealth and asset management divisions. Additionally, we’ve increased our stake in JM Financial Credit Solutions Limited to 97%, up from 47%,” he noted.

Previous Quarter Performance

In contrast, JM Financial’s performance in the previous quarter (Q3) saw a decline. The net profit dropped by 21.5% year-on-year to Rs 70.5 crore, down from Rs 89.8 crore in Q3 FY25. Revenue from operations also experienced a slight dip of 3.8%, totaling Rs 209.2 crore compared to Rs 217.5 crore during the same period last year.
