Stay Calm: IOCL Assures Ample Stock Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions – No Need for Panic Buying!

State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has reassured the public that there is no need for concern regarding fuel availability. In a recent update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the corporation emphasized that their fuel reserves are plentiful and that distribution channels are functioning without any disruptions. “Indian Oil has ample fuel stocks across the country, and our supply lines are operating smoothly. There is no need for panic buying—fuel and LPG are readily available at all our outlets,” the company stated.

Stay Calm for Consistent Fuel Access

IOCL encouraged citizens to maintain their composure and avoid unnecessary rushes to fuel stations. “Help us serve you better by staying calm and avoiding unnecessary rush. This will keep our supply lines running seamlessly and ensure uninterrupted fuel access for all,” the company added. By heeding this advice, residents can contribute to a smoother operation during this time.

Context of the Situation

This announcement comes in light of social media buzz depicting long lines at petrol pumps, driven by speculation of a fuel shortage amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The unrest follows the recent military operation known as Operation Sindoor, which was a response to the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. This attack tragically claimed the lives of 26 individuals in Baisran Valley, further escalating the already strained relations between the two nations.

Recent Developments and Alerts

Tensions reached a peak Thursday night, leading to power outages across several regions in Punjab, including major cities like Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali, and Chandigarh. The situation intensified when Pakistan launched missile strikes and drones into Indian territory. In response, air raid sirens were activated in Chandigarh to alert citizens to stay vigilant.

In summary, IOCL is working diligently to ensure that fuel remains available and accessible. By staying calm and informed, the public can help maintain a steady supply chain during these challenging times.
