Auto giant Mahindra & Mahindra has made headlines with its recent announcement regarding shareholder dividends. The company’s board has proposed a generous ₹25.3 dividend per share, based on a face value of ₹5. This dividend recommendation comes with an important date to note: shareholders must be on record by Friday, July 4, 2025, to qualify for this payout.

A Legacy of Generosity: M&M’s Dividend History

Since June 26, 2003, Mahindra & Mahindra has been known for its commitment to returning value to its investors, having declared 24 dividends in that time frame. Notably, in the past year alone, the company has issued an equity dividend totaling ₹21.10 per share, showcasing its progressive approach to shareholder returns.

Strong Q4 Performance Boosts Confidence

In its latest quarterly report, M&M delivered impressive results, revealing a 19.6% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹3,295.1 crore attributable to owners. Revenue from operations also saw a significant boost, climbing 20.4% YoY to hit ₹42,585.67 crore.

The company attributes this success to strong performance across multiple sectors, driven by operational excellence and disciplined capital management. The auto and agricultural divisions maintained their leadership positions, reporting revenue increases of 15% and 17% in profits, respectively. Additionally, the financial services sector experienced a 17% growth in assets under management.

Strategic Focus and Future Outlook

Amarjyoti Barua, M&M’s Group Chief Financial Officer, expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory, stating, “This year has been marked by widespread growth and enhanced profitability across our various sectors. We have strategically focused on international farm markets, resulting in nearly ₹10,000 crore in cash generation for F25. This solid performance allows us to enhance shareholder value through strategic investments, culminating in a 20% increase in dividends for F26.”

On the stock market front, M&M shares surged over 2%, reaching an intraday high of ₹3,002 before settling lower at ₹2,937.30 per share on the BSE. This upward trend reflects investor confidence in the company’s robust growth and positive outlook.
