As SpiceJet embarks on this journey, it aims to enhance its offerings and revenue potential through this religious service.

In its recent press release, SpiceJet confirmed the commencement of its Haj 2025 flights, starting with a route from Gaya to Medina. The airline plans to operate 45 flights during the initial phase, connecting key Indian cities, including Srinagar, Guwahati, and Kolkata to both Medina and Jeddah. This initiative underscores the airline’s commitment to serving the needs of pilgrims, facilitating their travel to one of the most important religious events in Islam.

  • Key Details:
    • Total Flights: 45

Revenue Growth and Increased Capacity

SpiceJet is gearing up to transport approximately 15,500 pilgrims for the 2025 pilgrimage season, reflecting an impressive 18% increase from the 13,000 passengers carried in the previous year. This growth highlights the significance of the Haj operations as a vital revenue stream for the airline. In 2024, SpiceJet generated an impressive ₹1209 crore in revenue from operating 102 flights to various destinations from cities like Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada.

Enhanced Travel Experience with New Aircraft

To ensure a comfortable journey for the pilgrims, SpiceJet has introduced two Airbus A340 wide-body aircraft, each accommodating 324 passengers. These aircraft will serve routes from Kolkata to Jeddah and from Srinagar and Guwahati to Medina. Additionally, a Boeing 737, seating 189, will operate on the Gaya-Medina route, further enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
