HUL Q4 Results: Profit Dips 3.36% – Live Updates and Insights

The fiscal fourth quarter earnings season is in full swing, and several prominent IT and banking firms have already unveiled their financial results. Notable releases earlier this month included IT giants like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, and HCL Tech, alongside major banking institutions such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Yes Bank.

Key Companies Set to Announce Q4 Results

Today, a host of significant companies are poised to share their Q4 earnings, including Nestle India, SBI Life Insurance Company, Tech Mahindra, Macrotech Developers, SBI Cards & Payment Services, and others. Investors are particularly keen to see how these firms will perform in the current economic climate.

Hindustan Unilever’s Q4 Performance

In its latest earnings report, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) revealed a 3.36% decrease in profit, totaling ₹2,475 crores. This figure is down from ₹2,561 crores reported in the same quarter last year (FY24). Despite the profit drop, the company saw an increase in revenue from operations, which rose to ₹15,670 crores, marking a 3.02% growth from ₹15,210 crores in the previous fiscal year’s fourth quarter.

Insights from Axis Securities

According to Axis Securities, the Q4FY25 earnings reports are shaped by several factors:

  • A rise in capital expenditure (capex)
  • Positive measures implemented by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the government
  • Fluctuating currency rates
  • Volatile trade dynamics
  • Unstable crude oil prices

These elements suggest a mixed performance trend for Q4FY25, similar to previous quarters. While there could be some recovery in high-frequency indicators, broader consumption demand may require another 1-2 quarters to stabilize.

CEO Rohit Jawa Discusses Future Outlook

Rohit Jawa, CEO and Managing Director of HUL, provided insights into the company’s performance during FY25. He announced that turnover exceeded ₹60,000 crores, with an underlying sales growth of 2% and an earnings per share (EPS) growth of 5%. He mentioned, “Despite mid-single-digit growth in absolute volume tonnage, we faced some challenges due to a negative mix. We are enhancing our market leadership through significant portfolio transformations, including increased innovation and strategic acquisitions.”

This follows an interim dividend of ₹19 and a special dividend of ₹10 paid out in November 2024. Overall, the total dividend for this period amounts to ₹53 per equity share.
